IMPORTANTE: COMUNICADO DE POLITICAS LINGÜISTICAS

Dear Teachers,

Thank you for your patience. We have been working hard in the process to obtain the CEPT (Cambridge English Placement Tests), but it was worth the effort.

We are sending this e-mail so you can check everything and be ready for the test while we prepare the tokens (access code) for each of you.

The plan is to have sent each candidate his/her token by Thursday 22 and to set a deadline for submitting the test for Sunday 25, midnight.

Attached you will find the technical specifications. Please also consider the following before using the tokens:

1. Before you run a test, ensure that your PC meets the technical requirements given in Appendix A and are configured as explained in Appendix B (both attached).
2. Load the page www.cpt.cambridgetest.org in Internet Explorer on your PC. The page contains two buttons: Tutorial and Test.
3. If you are not familiar with computer-based tests, please view the Tutorial; otherwise click the Test button.
4. We advise to view the Tutorial first as it will be useful for checking sound and volume.
5. After clicking the Test button, you will see a field in which to type your token.
6. Type your token in this field. The test starts and lasts 30 minutes.
7. If you cannot hear anything when the test should be producing sound, check the volume control on your PC and make sure that it has the latest version of Adobe Flash Player® installed.
8. If your PC experiences a black out or internet interruption do not panic. If the problem does not last more than two hours you can type your token again and continue the test from the point it was interrupted. Otherwise, we as Test Administrators can reset the tokens and allow you to finish it.
9. The reasons stated in number 8 are the only ones to interrupt the test. The system reports any misuse to the Test Administrator and this may result in invalidating the test.
